2018 ROUNDUP

What a year it’s been… 2018 was a blast!

We’ve made new friends, found new stockists and spread the word further a field about our tasty artisan ice cream.

It’s been a busy one for sure, with the summer being the hottest EVER recorded in England, we had to make sure that ice cream was in plentiful supply, which meant all hands on deck for the Stubbs-Burrows family.

With such amazing weather the ice cream bike was out on tour throughout the summer at events including the Cats Protection’s summer fête, St Oswald’s Church’s Teddy Parachute, Medfest and Ashbourne Show.

Summer also meant show season and all of the hard work paid off, with great results all round and a sneaky appearance in the Derbyshire Life magazine too…

After summer and with the colder weather approaching, we thought that we would have a chance to catch our breath, but with the decision to increase the number of Jersey girls on the farm and the continued success of Alex Burrows Livestock Services we didn’t get the opportunity.

On top of that the Coldeaton Jersey ice cream bike was in high demand for Christmas markets, with our seasonal flavours - including Christmas Pudding, Lemon Meringue and Honeycomb - flying out of the freezer at Shottle Hall and John Preston Home.

All round it’s been a fantastic year for us here at Coldeaton and we still feel almighty privileged to have such an amazing business that we are so passionate about.

We wouldn’t have been able to do any of this without our amazing clients, friends and family who still help us to make our dream a reality.

And 2019 is set to be even busier, our new sorbettos will be in full production and come summer there will be the sound of tiny pitter patter in the Burrows household.
